Hot Docs 2026: Documentary Festival Offers more than 100 Reasons to Cheer
Films we can’t wait to see at Hot Docs 2026

True stories from 51 countries around the world, including right here in Canada. The Hot Docs Festival runs April 23 to May 3 in Toronto, and though its 33rd edition is a more streamlined affair than past years, 80 features and 35 shorts will be screening as part of the event — and that makes for an overwhelming amount of cinema to discover. These are a few of the highlights:

2000 METERS TO ANDRIVKA
In Ukrainian, English and Russian, with English subtitles.
From the Academy Award–winning director of 20 Days in Mariupol comes an immersive and harrowing look at a Ukrainian platoon on the front lines of the war as they traverse a heavily fortified forest to liberate the strategic village of Andriivka.
