Community is Key to Abrigo’s Fundraising Event of the Year
The Abrigo Centre’s signature annual fundraising dinner, this year themed “Community is our Strength”, will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton.

Abrigo’s Gender-based Violence Program
Funds raised from our generous sponsors and guests will benefit the more than 500 women and their children in Abrigo’s Gender-based Violence program. Those in attendance will enjoy a fabulous four-course dinner and extravaganza all in the name of community empowerment. The evening will highlight the hope and healing Abrigo clients go through on their journey of care that often includes one-on-one counselling (either in-person or virtual), safety planning and assistance with food and income insecurity concerns if needed.
Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be legendary Toronto radio and media personality Christine Cardoso (photo) and the entertainment will feature one of Toronto’s best purveyors of pop and Motown hits the Supersonic Hearts band. While guests dine on their scrumptious meal, returning artists Stella Jurgen, Paula Anderson and Nisreen Askar will each create a community-themed painting from a blank canvas that will be auctioned off later that night. This proved to be a huge hit last year and our three amazing artists are back again to conjure up magic before our eyes.
