Brazilian Beat is the biggest celebration of Brazilian dance in Canada. It will showcase Canadian talent and promote Brazilian culture by exhibiting some of the world’s best Brazilian dancers and companies from Canada and Brazil. This 4 day premier event is filled with entertainment and dance, including: shows, four nightly performances and parties, a zouk competition, 17 hours of workshops and 2 free seminars available in the styles of Zouk, Samba no Pé, Samba de Gafieira, Samba Reggae, Forró, Capoeira, Afoxé and Afro-Brazilian dance.
Brazilian Beat starts Thursday (April 26th) at 8pm and ends on Sunday (29th) at midnight. This year’s Brazilian Beat features an outstanding lineup of performers, and elite instructors, such as “The Queen of Zouk”, Renata Peçanha and her partner Jorge Peres, coming from Rio de Janeiro, and many other artists also coming from Brazil! Other inspirational dance professionals coming from Quebec City and Vancouver are also contributing to make this unique celebration bigger and better.
Brazilian Beat 2012 is also pleased to announce that the Brazilian Beat Opening Night Cancer Fundraiser will be raising funds at the door and with a silent auction for, NACCI (organization for children with cancer in Salvador, Brazil) and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
