Brazil becomes the sixth largest economy in the world

ECONOMIC MIRACLE

Brazil becomes the sixth largest economy in the world, overtaking the United Kingdom according to the British and Research Center for Economics and Business (CEBR).

The CEBR’s chief executive, Douglas McWilliams, said in an interview with BBC that this change of positions between Brazil and Great Britain is part of a worldwide trend.

“I think this is part of the big economic change, where not only are we seeing a shift from West to East, but we’re also seeing that countries that produce vital commodities – food and energy, for example – are doing very well, and are gradually climbing up the economic league table”, he said.

According to economist Jose Marcio Camargo, it is fine to celebrate the passing of England, but suggest us to keep in mind how much remains to be done.
