Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival

Italian Contemporary Film Festival starts on July 20

By Discover | Published 16/07/2020

The Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival will feature 12 nights of box-office hits from around the world at Ontario Place.

The international film series, running from July 20th through July 31st, will feature a thoughtfully curated selection of works from some of the countries most affected by the global health crisis, and will revamp the most classic movie-going experience, transforming it into a contemporary film festival.

A different nation will be represented each night at Ontario Place, including France, Spain, China, Russia, the US, the UK, Brazil, India and Canada, with a special “Focus on Italy” series, presented in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura a Toronto. A portion of ticket sales will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with COVID-19 relief efforts.

After months of isolation, this event will provide Canadians the perfect opportunity to engage with the community once again, in a safe and physically-distanced manner. While restrictions may remain in place, the Lavazza Drive-In Film Festival offers families a safe and comfortable entertainment experience, as we navigate our new social reality. To eliminate concerns over large crowds at concession stands during the event, the Festival has partnered with sponsor Pizza Nova to design a tailored app which offers contactless delivery of snacks directly to vehicles

The event is co-hosted by ICFF, presented by @ICSavings

About Lavazza

The history of Lavazza is that of a business which, for over 125 years, has pursued a company vision based on passion for work, for the product and the land in which it operates. These values have been ingrained in Lavazza’s DNA since its foundation in 1895, and upheld by four generations of entrepreneurs. Each family member who has worked in the company has helped it to grow, transforming it into the company it is today, yet still true to the qualities of passion and innovation inherited from Luigi Lavazza. “It‘s about doing business with your heart” in the words of Emilio Lavazza.
It is the spirit which has allowed us to expand the company over the years: our way of doing business is an example of sustainability in the fullest sense of the word. It is a quality built up and shared with all the people we have met, starting with our employees and the places in which we work. These are the qualities that, every day, underpin the value of the company, allowing us to be recognised worldwide as an excellent Group, not just for the production of premium coffee, but also for our approach to work and social commitment.
