Newton Moraes Dance Theatre is celebrating its 20th Anniversary from March 6-9, 2019 with the world premiere “Wired Love” at The Citadel Theatre – #304 Parliament Street, Toronto.
WIRED LOVE
“WIRED LOVE” is a dance-theatre work that explores and investigates cultural trends in love, life connections, friendship and technology. Clearly, technology is a constant undercurrent that society dictates to the mass culture about social media, trends, dress codes, mannerisms and tones of speech.
“Art is the most profound method of communication between people. If there is no art, there is no love, there is no friendship. Then there will be only isolated and lonely individuals,” said Moraes.
Newton Moraes tells a story about the complexities of friendship, love and loneliness through “Wired Love”, ultimately to delineate technology myth from real, personal experiences.
Moraes’ greater goal of his current masterpiece is the decision about humans and technology being a much more personal one; not as a greater reflection of gender-myths of the collective society.
Newton Moraes’ Dance Theatre was created in 1997. The company was dedicated to Interpreting Canadian and Latin American culture via dance.
