Several initiatives during the months of September

With nearly 45,000 members, the branch union Local 183 LIUNA far exceeds any other labor organization in the civil construction sector across the North American continent.

In the last three years the administration led by the Luso-Canadian Jack Oliveira has led this delegation of the Labourers International Union of North America to increase the number of affiliates in more than 30% to the current record values.

LIUNA Local 183 opened in early September a new center in Barrie, city located 100 kilometers from Toronto. According to Jack Oliveira, “the investment is very good for new members that are north of Toronto, in order that we will have plenty of opportunity to work in that northern area.”

LIUNA 183 will change their installations to a new building in Toronto. The preference is that the building is near the school formation.
