Brazilian visual artist Milenna Saraiva is back to Toronto for her solo “Supernatural”

By Leila Monteiro Lins

The Brazilian visual artist Milenna Saraiva works are presented in The Peach Galley, which represented the artist after a successful partnership last year.

The “SUPERNATURAL” exposure is a multi-media series of art work divided in three lines of work: photography compositions, water-colour portraits on paper and acrylic and oil paintings on canvas.

This series represents a personal journey of exploration of Nature versus Technology, Man versus Machine, Analogic versus Digital, and our role as human beings within this new and ever changing landscape, suggesting a return to a fearless and primordial state.

MILLENA SARAIVA

Milenna was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. “Mimi” comes from a family of musicians and artists who have really inspired and motivated her. Milenna primarily works with oil paint on canvas and on wood but is constantly experimenting with new mediums such as video projections on a painted canvas, drawing, sculpture and some collage. In Milenna’s latest series called “Psychoactive Renderings” she explores the absolute right side of the brain with acrylic and ink drawings.

PEACH GALLERY

The Peach Gallery was founded in November 2012 by a group of local art dealers, collectors and makers, including the legendary Walter Moos. The gallery’s mission is to present the public with a unique and lively mix of local and international artists that are established and emerging.

LIUNA Local 183 opened in early September a new center in Barrie, city located 100 kilometers from Toronto. According to Jack Oliveira, "the investment is very good for new members that are north of Toronto, in order that we will have plenty of opportunity to work in that northern area."
